Bigfoot’s Spring Discovery: The Sunshine Motel and Cabins

In the spring of 2024, the snow had melted from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, revealing lush green forests and inviting trails near Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains. Bigfoot, the mythical yet legendary creature of the Northwoods, decided to take a walk with his young son. Their journey would lead to an unexpected discovery—the charming Sunshine Motel and Cabins in Ontonagon.

The day began with Bigfoot and his son trekking through the dense pine forest. The warm breeze carried the scent of fresh earth, and wildflowers peeked through the undergrowth. As they followed a winding path, Bigfoot spotted something unusual ahead: a cozy, rustic lodge nestled amidst the towering trees.

Curious, the father and son approached cautiously. The Sunshine Motel’s welcoming exterior, with its charming cabins and neatly maintained grounds, seemed inviting even to the shy creatures. As they explored further, Bigfoot noticed families laughing on porches, children playing outside, and a warm sense of hospitality radiating from the property.

Intrigued, the pair stayed hidden but visited frequently, watching the happy guests enjoy the beauty of the Upper Peninsula. Bigfoot admired the Sunshine Motel’s proximity to area attractions, from Lake Superior’s beaches to the Porcupine Mountains’ hiking trails.

Before long, whispers of Bigfoot sightings spread among the motel’s guests, creating excitement and drawing adventurers eager to explore the legendary creature’s stomping grounds. The Sunshine Motel became a hotspot for those hoping to experience the mystery and beauty of the Upper Peninsula.

To this day, Bigfoot and his son occasionally visit the area, blending into the forests around the Sunshine Motel. Some lucky guests even claim to have spotted them in the distance, adding an unforgettable story to their Upper Peninsula getaway.

About the Sunshine

From the picturesque shores of Green Bay and Lake Michigan to the majestic inland ocean of Lake Superior, our journey led us to a hidden gem: the Sunshine Motel and Cabins. In 2019, my wife and I discovered this charming property nestled in Ontonagon, Michigan, and fell in love with its beauty and potential. My wife, a dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience, and I, a Theologian and ordained Minister, decided to embark on a new adventure as motel owners. In March 2020, our dream became a reality, and what an incredible journey it has been ever since!

Owning the Sunshine Motel and Cabins has allowed us to embrace a life of connection and hospitality, meeting and sharing stories with people from all walks of life. It has truly become our passion to provide a warm and welcoming space for travelers exploring Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Beyond running the motel, we share a deep love for taking long road trips across the country. We delight in meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds, discovering unique traditions, and indulging in new and exciting cuisines. These experiences continually inspire us to create a place where adventure, relaxation, and camaraderie come together.

As we continue this incredible journey, we look forward to welcoming more guests to our little slice of paradise and hearing their stories. Life is an adventure, and we’re thrilled to be on this ride. Let the adventures continue!
